Hospital pharmacists: a vision for the future according to APOTECAcommunity

On the 16th and 17th of June, top-notch Italian hospital pharmacist professionals met in the annual appointment in Loccioni Humancare, in the middle of the marchigian hills, in which they imagined how their role is going to be 25 years from now.
The APOTECAcommunity group is made up with all of the selected users of the APOTECA robot that is used for the automatic preparation of IV therapies. The professionals that are part of this scientific network collaborate periodically to envision a better way to take care of people.
The Community, which is formed by the members that work with the most influential Italian hospitals (i.e. Azienda Ospedaliera di Perugia, IRCCS IRST, Ospedali Riuniti di Ancona), focused on having a thorough understanding on the role of today’s pharmacists: even though innovation is created by improvements in technology, “the real difference that distinguishes successful organisations from others is made by the people” (as stated by Graziano Cucchi, professor at the Polytechnic Univerity of  Marche Region).
