International Conference on Robotics and Automation

The International Conference on Robotics and Automation (ICRA) is the IEEE Robotics and Automation Society’s biggest conference and one of the leading international forums for robotics researchers to present their work.
The 2016 conference is held on May 16-21, 2016 at the Stockholm Waterfront Congress Centre in Stockholm, Sweden.
Loccioni Group participates in the panel “Partnering for modular, open solutions to meet industry needs” along with Airbus, Pneubotics and MTM Robotics.
In this panel discussion, the need for automation are motivated, the current state of the art in manufacturing demystified, and the many technical challenges ahead highlighted.
Are also analysed the results from the AIRBUS shopfloor challenge, one of the four robot challenges presented in the Conference.
Cristina Cristalli, Innovation Director at Loccioni Group, is member of the Jury asked to evaluate the systems presented by the challenge participants.
These competing teams have been challenged to develop a lightweight, agile robotic system able to target accurate point-based assembly process operations such as drilling, tightening and measurement.
